Rezultātā parādījās nozīmīgas atšķirības atmiņu precizitātē, atkarībā no atstāstījuma fokusa.

- Aim of this research was to determine, is there a difference in accuracy of memory for one’s emotions, description of the key person and factual events of the scene for people, who watched a violent film scene, and later made activities with affective, factual and common focus. To gain insight into that question, current research was made. All participants watched a violent film scene, and later were assigned to four groups. Participants of the first group were instructed to discuss the film clip, second group participants were instructed to describe the events of the scene as accurately as possible, third group participants were instructed to describe their emotional reactions to film clip and forth group did an unrelated tasks. Thus, the data from 123 students of four Latvian universities will be presented here, from 60 males and 63 females.
Following tests were designed for current research:
•Emotional checklist. (emotion memory test)
•Key person description inventory
•Cued-recall questions of the film.
There were dramatic differences in the retellings as a consequence of focus. Factual retelling and Discussion group participants provided better results for accuracy of memory for description of the key person and factual events of the scene. In return, emotional retelling led to major errors in description of the key person and factual events of the scene. However, there is no statistical significant difference in memory test performance.
Keywords: eyewitness memory.
