Pētījumā izmantotās metodes: Jēlas- Braunas obsesīvi-kompulsīvu traucējumu pašnovērtējuma aptauja (Yale- Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale- Self report (YBOCS-SR) un Pēcdzemdību saiknes aptauja (The Postpartum Bonding Questionnaire).
Atslēgas vārdi: obsesīvi- kompulsīvi traucējumi, mātes/tēva- bērna saikne Pregnancy, delivery and postpartum period is associated with the start of a new life both for men and women. This positive time is closely related with changes in mental health. Aims of this study were: 1) What are the diferences in research participants’ self- rated obsessive- compulsive disorder (OCD) symptoms before and after the childbirth? 2) What are the OCD symptom change diferences between men and women? 3) What is the relationship between OCD symptoms and mother/father- child bonding?
30 women and 30 men aged from 20-40 with one child under 2 years of age participated in this research.
Research methods: Yale- Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale- Self report (YBOCS-SR) and The Postpartum Bonding Questionnaire.
Results of the study show that there is statistically significant diference between self- rated OCD sypmtoms before and after the childbirth for both participant groups. Subjectivly self- rated OCD symptoms increase after the childbirth for both men and women.
There is statistically significant diference between genders before and after the childbirth in the following OCD symptom subscales: Aggressive obsessions, Contamination obsessions, Cleaning/washing compulsions and Total obsessions. In these subscales women have higher results in comparison with men.
It can also be concluded that there is statistically significant correlation between OCD symptoms and mother/father- child bonding. More intense OCD symptoms lead to greater mother/father bonding disorders.
Key words: obsessive- compulsive disorder, mother/father- child bonding
