Bērnu temperamenta aptauja (Very Short Form of the Children’s Behavior Questionnaire (CBQ – VSF); Rothbart, Ahadi, Hershey & Fisher, 2001); 2. Bērna audzināšanas pieeju aptauja (Block’s Child Rearing Practices Report (CRPR); Roberts, Block & Block, 1984).

83 fathers, who had a child aged 3 to 5, participated in the research, one group consisting of 47 fathers of daughters and the other group with 36 fathers of sons.
The author of the paper has applied the following measures: 1. Very Short Form of the Children’s Behavior Questionnaire (CBQ – VSF) (Rothbart, Ahadi, Hershey & Fisher, 2001); 2. Block’s Child Rearing Practices Report (CRPR) Roberts, Block & Block, 1984).
According to the results of the research, it can be concluded that there exists a statistically significant diference between the temperament indexes of the two examined groups: boys’ surgensy is higher than that of the girls, whereas the girls’ negative affect and effortful control is higher than that of the boys. There does not exist a statistically significant difference between the choice of paternal parenting towards sons and daughters. There is, however, statistically significant correlation between paternal psychological control and temperament index effortful control, whereas there is no statistically significant correlation between paternal psysical punishment and the child’s temperament index. Paternal psychological control has a statistically significant correlation with the child’s temperament index effortful control in regard to both the sons and daughters. There does not exist a statistically significant correlation between paternal psysical punishment and the temperament indexes of their sons and daughters.
