Eiropas valodu portfelis skolēniem (no 7-12 gadiem)kā līdzeklis patstāvīgās mācīšanās attīstīšanai angļu valodas stundās 6.klasē

Abstract

Diplomdarbs ‘Eiropas valodu portfelis skolēniem (no 7-12 gadiem) patstāvīgās mācīšanās prasmju attīstībai angļu valodas stundās 6. klasē’ aplūko tādu problēmu, kā 6 klases skolēnu spēju mācīties patstāvīgi. Lielākā daļa valodu skolotāju ir pieredzējuši vilšanos, ieguldot neizsakāmi daudz enerģijas skolēnos un pretī saņemot niecīgu atdevi. Skolēni neuzņemas atbildību par savu darbu, viņi nezina, kā strādāt patstāvīgi un pārāk daudz paļaujas uz skolotāju. Izanalizējot ‘Manu EVP’, kas ir izveidots skolēniem, diplomdarba autore uzskata, ka EVP var attīstīt patstāvīgās mācīšanās prasmes. Eiropas Valodu Portfelis ir izveidots, lai iedrošinātu apgūt valodas mūža garumā, neskatoties uz zināšanu līmeni vai prasmēm, kā arī tas ir izveidots, lai padarītu mācību procesu skaidrāku un attīstītu valodas apguvēja spēju izvērtēt savas zināšanas, turklāt ‘Mans EVP’ ir vizuāli pievilcīgs ar daudzām krāšņām bildēm un uzdevumiem, kas ļaut skolēniem būt radošiem mācību procesa laikā. Lai veiktu pētījumu, autore izvēlējās atsevišķa gadījuma pētījumu, kurš tika veikts Rīgas Valda Zālīša pamatskolas 6. klasē, 5 mēnešu garumā. Lai iegūtu datus, tika izmantotas 2 anketas skolēniem un viena skolotājiem, kā arī tika izanalizēti skolēnu portfeļi, lai iegūtu precīzākus datus. Izanalizējot anketas, autore ir pārliecināts, ka skolēni ir sapratuši, ka veiksmīga mācību procesa nodrošināšanai nepieciešams uzņemties atbildību. Skolēni ir mainījuši savu attieksmi pret mācīšanās procesu un ir iemācījušies izvirzīt savus mācību mērķus. Skolēni paši izveido savus uzdevumus un jautājumus saviem klasesbiedriem, viņi dalās ar savām idejām un mērķiem, kā arī darbā ar Eiropas Valodu Portfeli atzīme viņiem nav svarīgākais. Skolēni pamazām attīstīja patstāvīgās mācīšanās prasmes un viņi vēl joprojām cenšas attīstīt tās vēl lielākā pakāpē. Diplomdarba autore iesaka visiem valodu skolotājiem izmantot Eiropas Valodu Portfeli mācību stundās, jo tas ir lielisks palīgs skolēniem valodas apguvē.

The Diploma Paper ‘The European Language Portfolio for Young Learners (Age 7-12) to Develop Autonomous Learning Skills in English Lessons in Grade 6’ is concerned with the students in grade 6 and their ability to study autonomously. Most language teachers have experienced the frustrations of investing endless amounts of energy in their learners and getting back very little response. Learners do not take responsibility for their own work, they do not know how to work independently and they rely too much on teachers, therefore it is necessary to develop autonomous learning skills in young learners. By analysing the content of ‘My ELP’ designed for young learners, the author of the Diploma Paper thinks that the ELP can promote development of autonomous learning skills in young learners. The ELP is designed to encourage the lifelong learning of the languages to any level and proficiency, to make the learning process more transparent and to develop the learner’s ability to assess his/her own competences and what is the most important- ‘My ELP’ is visually appealing for young learners with many bright pictures and tasks they can work creatively during the learning process. To do a research, the author conducted a case study in Grade 6 of Riga V.Zalītis Elementary School for 5 months. In order to collect data, the following data collection methods were used: 2 self-designed questionnaires for learners and one self-designed questionnaire for teachers, as well as content analysis of students’ portfolios. By analysing the questionnaires, the author is sure that learners have understood the role of their own responsibility in the learning process. Learners have changed their attitude towards learning process and they have learnt how to set their goals they want to achieve. Learners design their own exercises and ask just questions to their peers, they share their ideas and goals with others and they do not desire for the mark after working with the ELP. Learners have developed their autonomous learning skills gradually and they still are trying to be more autonomous. The author of the Diploma Paper suggests all language teachers should use the ELP in their lessons as it is a great help for learners to understand how they learn a language.
