Skolēnu motivācijas attīstīšana angļu valodas mācīšanās procesā vidusskolā

Abstract

Diplomdarbs bija uzrakstīts lai izpētītu skolēnu motivāciju angļu valodas mācīšanās procesā, kā arī uzzināt kā motivācija ietekmē mācīšanās. Šī tēma tika izvēlēta sakarā ar autora interesi, pētot šo jomu un ievērojot situācijas skolā, kad skolēni nav motivēti mācīšanās procesā un svešvalodu apguvē. Daudzi no tiem uzskata, ka viņiem nav nepieciešams zināt svešvalodu, dzīvojot savā valstī, kurā ir sava valoda un kultūra. Atrast nepieciešamu informāciju autors veica apkopoto literatūras analīzi un pielietoja socioloģisko pētījumu, lai pārbaudītu motivācijas aspektu nepieciešamību un paņēmienus, kuri var uzlabot skolēnu interesi angļu valodas mācīšanās procesā. Tika uzzināts, ka mūsdienās trūkst skolotāju, kuriem ir citas izredzes uz mācīšanas un mācīšanu procesu, kuri apzinās, ka skolēniem ir nepieciešama skolotāju sapratne, viņu vajadzības un interešu ievērošana; kuri saprot, ka mācīšanas process nozīmē ne tikai priekšmetu pasniegšanu, bet arī prasa attīstīt skolēna personību lai viņš kļūtu par pilntiesīgu sabiedrības locekli. Noslēgumā, var secināt, ka veiksmīgs mācīšanas un mācīšanu process var būt atkarīgs no dažādiem faktoriem, kurus vairākumu no tiem var nodrošināt skolotājs. Turklāt, skolotājam ir nepieciešams vērot faktorus, kuri motivē skolēnus mācīties angļu valodu, kā arī faktorus, kuri rada mācīšanās vidi.

The Diploma Paper was written to study students’ motivation in the English language learning process as well as to find out how it influences learning. This theme was chosen due to the authors’ interest in researching this field and observed situations at school when students are de-motivated in learning process as well as in learning foreign languages. Many of them are sure that it is absolutely unnecessary to know a foreign language living in their own country when there is a different language and culture. To get the necessary information the author did a summative analysis of the theoretical literature and used a case study to prove the necessity of motivational aspects and ways that can enhance students’ interest in the language learning process. It was found out that today there is a need for a teacher who has another outlook to the teaching/learning process; who realizes that a student also asks for understanding, for taking into consideration their needs, interests; who understands that the teaching process means not only passing over the knowledge of the subject, but it also demands to develop the whole person to become a full-bodied member of the society. It can be concluded that successful teaching/learning process depends on many factors, which most of them the teacher can provide. Moreover, the teacher should observe factors that motivate students to learn the English language and the factors, which create a positive learning environment.
