Tikmēr to izmantošana iepazīstināšanas posmā var radīt apjukumu studentu vidū. Aptauja rāda, ka studenti lielākoties priecājās par piedalīšanos interaktīvajās aktivitātēs. Neskatoties uz to, daži studenti apšaubīja dažu aktivitāšu noderību viņu gramatikas apguvē. Aptauja rāda, ka studenti dod priekšroku tēmas izskaidrošanai bez interaktīvajām aktivitātēm iepazīstināšanas posmā. Tomēr, nostiprināšanas un radīšanas posmā viņi labprātāk izvēlētos interaktīvās aktivitātes.
Diplomdarba autore iesaka izmantot interaktīvās aktivitātes valodu nodarbībās. Tās var padarīt gramatikas apguvi daudz baudāmāku un interesantāku. Tāpat arī studenti kļūst daudz entuziastiskāki valodas apguves procesā. The theme of the diploma paper is Interactive Activities in Teaching English Grammar to Adults in a Language School. Nowadays many adults choose to join different courses in order to develop themselves and extend one’s range of vision. The adults have intrinsic and extrinsic motivation for attending the courses. Nevertheless, the teacher must be clever in organizing the English lessons, so that they would be interesting and engaging for everyone. One of the ways how to do it is to involve students in the learning process as much as possible. Interactive activities provide this kind of oppurtunity.
The paper was written in order to find out how interactive activities should be used in the teaching/learning process, so that they would help raising the competence of the language. As well, the opinion of the adult students were found out during the research. A case study was carried out in English courses of Valodu Vēstniecība with two groups of adult students. The chosen interactive activities were as follows: a game, a role play, a discussion and a dialogue. The methods were used in all the stages of the grammar acquisition.
The author of the paper has chosen an observation, an achievement test, and a questionnaire, as a data collection method. The observation was carried out during the learning process, so that the author of the paper could properly observe each interactive activity and its expedience in the particular stage. When the interactive activities and the observation were carried out, the students wrote an achievement test. The role of the achievement test was to evaluate the gained knowledge.
The questionnaire helped to find out the adults’ opinion on the interactive activities and their expedience in their learning process. The questionnaire was given to students after the studying process of the particular grammar theme and the achievement test.
The results of the case study showed that interactive activities are essential in the consolidation and production stage. While their usage in the presentation stage may cause confusion among students. The questionnaire showed that adults mostly enjoyed their participation the interactive activities. Notwithstanding, some students doubted about separate activities’ expedience. The questionnaire showed that adult students prefer explanation of the grammar theme without interactive activities in the presentation stage. While, they prefer interactive activities in the consolidation and production stage.
The author of the paper suggests using interactive activities in the language lessons. They can make the grammar acquisition more enjoyable and interesting. As well, the students become more enthusiastic in the studying process.
