ASV ietekme uz Latvijas neatkarības atgūšanas procesiem (1986-1991)

Abstract

Šajā darbā tiks apskatīta ASV ietekme uz Latvijas neatkarības atgūšanas procesiem 1986. – 1991. gadā. Šī ir nesena vēsture, ar lielu ietekmi uz mūsdienu politisko situāciju,. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt ASV ietekmi uz minētajiem procesiem, izvirzot hipotēzi, ka ASV atbalsts bija kritiski nepieciešams Latvijas valsts atjaunošanai. Var secināt, ka hipotēze ir pierādīta daļēji, jo nav noliedzams, ka ASV atbalsts bija ļoti nozīmīgs, tomēr ir nepieciešams visaptverošs Trešās atmodas pētījums, kas aptvertu visus tās apstākļus, lai varētu apgalvot, ka šis atbalsts tiešām bija izšķirošs.

Influence of the USA to the processes of regaining the independence of Latvia from 1986. to 1991. will be discussed in this Master thesis. This is recent history, so it has great influence to political situation of nowadays. The goal of this thesis is to explore the influence to said processes. It is possible to offer a hypothesis, that support from the USA was crucially important for regaining the independence of Latvia. Drawing a conclusion, it is possible to state, that hypothesis is partially proven, because, though support from the USA was indeed very important, there is need for large research of Third Awakening in Latvia so we may state, that said support was indeed crucial.
