Abstract

Maģistra darba tēma ir „Ē. M. Remarka individuālā stila ievērošana viņa romāna „Der Weg zurueck” dažādu laika periodu latviešu tulkojumos”. Darba mērķis ir noteikt atbilstību autora individuālā stila atveidē un laika perioda ietekmi uz tulkojumu. Ē. M. Remarks ir viens no populārākajiem 20. gadsimta vācu autoriem. Savās grāmatās aprakstījis kara šausmas un bezjēdzību, kas bija jāpārdzīvo viņa paaudzei, attēlojis traģiskus likteņus, ko pazudinājis karš. Balstoties uz tulkošanas un stila teoriju, darbā tiek analizēti un salīdzināti valodas izteiksmes līdzekļi. Pirmā nodaļa sniedz īsu ieskatu literārajā tulkošanā, tulkošanas pamatprincipos un veidos, kā arī autora stilu kopumā. Otrā nodaļa sniedz informāciju par Ē. M. Remarka biogrāfiju, populārākajiem darbiem un valodu. Trešā nodaļa raksturo tulkošanas jomu pagājušajā gadsimtā, pievēršoties analizējamo darbu tulkotājiem, viņu valodas īpatnībām un laikmeta prasībām.Ceturtā nodaļa ir tulkojumu analīze, oriģināla un tulkojumu salīdzinājums.Darba nobeigumā secināts, ka tulkojumu kvalitāte vietām ir ļoti problemātiska, neatbilst oriģinālam un mūsdienās būtu nepieciešams jauns šā darba tulkojums. The theme of the Master paper is „The Maintenance of E. M. Remarque's individual style in the different time period latvian translations of his novel „Der Weg zurueck“ (The Road back)." The aim of the paper is to find out whether there is conformity in rendering the author's style as well as the influence of the time period on the respective translation. E. M. Remarque is one of the most popular German authors of the 20th century. In his books he describes the war terror and meaningless that his generation had to experience. He writes about the tragic fates which were lost in the war. On the basis of the translation and style theory the paper presents an analysis and a comparison of the stylistic means of the language. The first chapter gives a short insight into the literary translation, the basic principles and ways of translation as well as characterizes the author’s style as a whole.The second chapter provides with information on E. M. Remarque’s life story, his most popular works and language. The third chapter takes up the translation sphere during the last century by featuring the translators of the analysed works, peculiarities of the translators’ language and the demands of the time period.The fourth chapter comprises the analysis of translations and the comparison of the original and the translations.The paper concludes that the quality of the translations is very problematic in some places which does not conform to the original and that nowadays there is a need for a renewed translation.The Master paper is meant for the current and future translators, publishers and editors as well as for everyone who respects Remarque's works.
