Vīriešu un sieviešu attiecību reprezentācija britu postmodernajā romānā

Abstract

Šis maģistra darbs ir veltīts vīriešu un sieviešu attiecību reprezentācijas analīzei angļu postmodernajā daiļliteratūrā. Šim nolūkam ir izvēlēti tādu rakstnieku darbi, kā Dž.Brains, Dž.Faulzs un I.Makēvans. Pētījuma mērķis ir izskatīt angļu postmodernās literatūras teorijas un kritikas problemātiku, kā arī izanalizēt britu postmodernisma literāros darbus vīriešu un sieviešu attiecību gaismā. Maģistra darbs sastāv no divām daļām – teorētiskās un praktiskās. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek aplūkoti britu postmodernās literatūras teorētiskie aspekti, bet praktiskajā daļā tiek izanalizēta vīriešu un sieviešu attiecību reprezentācija augstāk minēto rakstnieku romānos. Postmoderno stratēģiju lietošanas pakāpe autoru literāro darbu rādīšanas procesā bija atkarīga no postmodernisma attīstības stadijas. Nobeigumā secināts, ka idejas, domas, un novērojumi, kurus atspoguļoja angļu rakstnieki dzimumu attiecību tēmas atklāšanas gaitā, atbilst sabiedrības apziņas stāvoklim, kurš eksistēja šo literāro darbu rādīšanas periodā, un tas faktors piešķira tiem romāniem aktualitāti un lietderīgumu lasītāju vidū.

This work is dedicated to the analysis of the representation of man and woman relationships in English postmodern fiction. For this purpose the works of such writers as J.Braine, J.Fowles and I.McEwan are chosen. The goal of this MA paper is to examine the problems of English postmodern literary theory and critique, as well as to analyze British postmodern writings, concerning the aspect of man and woman’s relationships. Consequently, the research consists of two parts – theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the theoretical aspects of English postmodern literature, while the practical part comprises the analysis of the representation of man and woman’s relationships in the novels by the above-mentioned writers. The degree of applying postmodern strategies by the authors on creating their works depended on the stage of the development of postmodernism. The conclusion is being made that the ideas, thoughts and observations, which the English writers reflected in representing man and woman’s relationships, correspond to the condition of the public consciousness that existed in the period of creating these literary works, and it made them topical and required on the part of the readership.
