Baltijas valstis ir Eiropas Savienības dalībvalstis kopš 2004. gada, Latvija un Igaunija ir eirozonas dalībvalstis, Lietuva plāno iestāties eirozonā 2015. gadā, bet Baltijas valstis aizvien ir vienas no nabadzīgākajām valstīm Eiropas Savienībā.
Bakalaura darba mērķis ir, pamatojoties uz Baltijas valstu, Eiropas Savienības un eirozonas makroekonomisko rādītāju analīzi, noskaidrot, vai Baltijas valstis konverģē ar Eiropas Savienības un eirozonas vidējo līmeni.
Bakalaura darba sākumā veikts reālās konverģences teoriju un novērtēšanas metožu pārskats, tad izvērtēta Eiropas Savienības un Baltijas valstu ekonomiskā attīstība, kā arī apkopoti citu autoru reālās konverģences pētījumu rezultāti par Eiropu. Pētījuma daļā veikta Baltijas valstu reālās konverģences procesa ar Eiropas Savienības un eirozonas vidējo līmeni ekonometriskā analīze. Rezultāti liecina, ka Baltijas valstu reālā konverģence ar Eiropas Savienības un eirozonas vidējo līmeni notiek lēni. Reālās konverģences ātrums ir ap 2% gadā.

The Baltic states are Member States of the European Union since 2004, Latvia and Estonia are in the euro area, Lithuania intends to join the euro area in 2015, but the Baltic states are still one of the poorest countries in the European Union.
The objective of the bachelor thesis is to determine whether the Baltic states converges with the eurozone and the European Union average level, in the basis of Baltic states, the European Union and the euro area macroeconomic indicators.
At the beginning of bachelor thesis carried out a review of real convergence theory and assessment methods, then evaluated the European Union and the Baltic states economic development, as well as other authors’ real convergence results for Europe. In research part carried out econometric analysis of the Baltic states real convergence towards the European Union and the euro area average level. The results show that the Baltic countries real convergence to the European Union and the euro area average level is slow. Real convergence rate is around 2% a year.
