To achieve the goal several Latvian and European Union laws that relate to food labelling are compared. At the beginning there is a chapter that lists with the food labelling related definitions and explains the system of food security and circulation as a whole. Also there is an analysis of the survey that was made to found out the significance of the product labelling in everyday life. Posed hypothesis – The new European Union regulation and the changes in it that relate to food labelling regulations, are not sufficient to promote and protect consumers from deception against them from the side of the food manufacturer. The Master’s Paper consists of four chapters. The author used the qualitative and quantitative research methods. Scope of the Master’s Paper: it consists of 98 pages, 19 table and 4 appendix.
