Nowadays music has become an indispensable part of everyday life, and it can become an essential part of the English language lesson too as it helps create interest in learning the target language. The goal of the bachelor paper was to prove that language learning tasks which involve music can be used to develop learners’ speaking and listening skills. The research method comprised the analysis of theoretical literature on speaking and listening skills and the role of music in the development of speaking and listening skills, which allowed the author of this paper to select and adapt the tasks to the target audience of this research, i.e. primary school learners. The practical part comprised the analysis of the piloted lessons, administered questionnaires to teachers, parents and learners. It can be concluded that the tasks involving music and fostering the target skills can be successfully used in English language lessons.
