Sociokulturālo elementu tulkošana literāros tekstos

Abstract

Tulkošana nereti tiek uzskatīta par mehānisku darbību, kuras rezultātā tiek saprasta avotvaloda un atrasts piemērots termins mērķvalodā. Taču jāņem vērā, ka katrai kultūrai ir savas specifiskās iezīmes, kas iespaido arī tās valodu. Šajā darbā tiek izpētīti tulkošanas sociokulturālie aspekti, kā arī tulkošanas un kultūras mijiedarbība. Tiek aplūkotas dažādas pieejas un metodes, kas palīdz tikt galā ar grūtībām, kas radušās šādu tekstu tulkošanā. Literārie teksti sevī ietver lielu daudzumu kultūrspecifisku jēdzienu, kas piešķir valodai tās īpašo skanējumu, tomēr ir neizbēgami, ka liela daļa šīs specifikas pazūd tulkojumā, jo lielākoties tulkojumos tiek izmantoti vispārināti jēdzieni. Valoda laika gaitā mainās, un ir daudz vieglāk veikt tulkojumu, ja mērķauditorija ir pazīstama ar avotvalodas kultūru.

The translation is often seen as a mechanical process of decoding the language and finding equivalent term in the target language. However, it has to be taken into account that every culture has its own specific features that influences also its language. The Bachelor paper explores the socio-cultural aspects in translation and relations that are present between translation and culture, as well as methods and approaches to the difficulties that occur when translating a text. Literary texts include many culture-specific terms that give particular colouring to the language in the text. It is inevitable to preserve it as there are used more generalized terms. Language elements are likely to change in the course of time and it is easier to do translation if the target culture is more familiar with the source culture.
