Nacionālo identitāšu veidošanās multinacionālajā sabiedrībā: „Baltijas provinču jautājums” (19. gs. 60. gadu beigās)

Abstract

Maģistra darbā „Nacionālo identitāšu veidošanās multinacionālajā sabiedrībā: „Baltijas jautājums” (1860. gadu beigas)” ir aplūkota pārmaiņu Krievijas impērijā un tās provincēs ietekme uz krievu un baltvāciešu nacionālajām identitātēm 19. gadsimta 2. pusē. Ieplānotā provinču ciešāka piesaistīšana pie impērijas apdraudēja Baltijas vāciešu gadsimtus vecās privilēģijas un autonomiju. Šis interešu konflikts veido tā saucamā „Baltijas jautājuma” kodolu. Jurija Samarina „Krievijas apgabali” (1868) un Karla Širena „Livonijas atbilde” (1869) ir svarīgākie programatiskie darbi par „Baltijas jautājumu”. Abi autori sniedz pamatu savu tautiešu nacionālajām identitātēm, izstrādā simbolu kopumu, uz kura balstās krievu un baltvāciešu kolektīvā pašapziņa. Maģistra darbā tiek analizēti nācijas konstruēšanas lingvistiskie un kultūrvēsturiskie aspekti, tādējādi ilustrējot tādu pētnieku kā J. Asmans, B. Andersons, B. Hobsbaums u.c. tēzes.

The master’s paper “The forming of national identities: The “Baltic question” (the end of the 1860s)” deals with the changes in the Russian empire and their impact on the national identities of Russians and Baltic Germans. In the second half of the 19th century a closer joining of the provinces to the empire was intended, which was a danger to the centuries old privileges and autonomy of the Baltic Germans. This clash of interests is the core of the so called “Baltic question”. “The Russian districts” (1868) by Jurij Samarin and “The Livonian reply” (1869) by Carl Schirren were the both most influential programmatic works about the “Baltic question”. The books offered a system of national symbols and interpretations and formed the basis for the national identities of Russians and Baltic Germans. The master’s paper analyzes the linguistic, cultural and historical aspects of the nation-building and illustrates thus the thesis of such researchers as J. Assmann, B. Anderson, E. Hobsbawm etc.
