Apdrošināšanas terminoloģijas mācīšana studentiem ar vidēju angļu valodas apguves līmeni

Kādas konkrētas jomas terminoloģijas pārzināšana ir būtiska ne tikai cilvēkiem, kas strādā šajā nozarē. Darbinieku zināšanas, kā precīzi iztulkot terminus angļu valodā ir svarīgas arī uzņēmumiem, kas vēlas darboties starptautiskā līmenī. Maģistra darba mērķis bija izpētīt, kā uzdevumi, kas veidoti, balstoties uz aktīvas mācīšanās pieeju, proti, pieeju, kas centrēta uz studentu, var palīdzēt mācīties angļu valodu pieaugušajiem, kuri mācās angļu valodu kā svešvalodu. Visi trīs studenti bija ar vidēju angļu valodas apguves līmeni. Gadījuma pētījums ietvēra studentu vajadzību analīzi, testus pildītus pirms un pēc nodarbībām, trīs mācību stundu novadīšanu un testu rezultātu salīdzinājumu. Tikasecināts, ka studentu zināšanas par apdrošināšanas terminoloģiju angļu valodā uzlabojās pēc intensīvām nodarbībām, koncentrētām uz terminu mācīšanu un pielietošanu.

The goal of the Master Thesis was to discover how tasks of active learning approach, namely student-centred teaching approach, can help in teaching vocabulary of English for Specific Purposes to intermediate adult learners, who are studying English as a foreign language. All three students had an intermediate English language proficiency level. The case study involved a Needs Analysis survey, pre-testing, post-testing, lessons conducted to learners and comparison of testing results. It was concluded that the students’ knowledge of insurance English terms improved after three classes of intense exposure to the new terms and their application.
