Izmestu pārtikas atkritumu iegūšanas un izmantošanas iespējas Rīgā

Abstract

Pārtikas atkritumi ir kļuvuši par aktuālu vides, sociālu un arī pārtikas politikas problēmu, kura ir izveidojusies nepietiekami labi pārvaldītas pārtikas sistēmas dēļ. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt pārtikas atkritumu problēmas cēloņus, kā arī to samazināšanas un izmantošanas iespējas. Pētījums fokusējas uz pārtikas atkritumiem vienā pārtikas ražošanas, sadales un patēriņa sistēmas posmā – tirdzniecībā. Pētījumā tiek veikti novērojumi lielveikalu atkritumu laukumos, veiktas intervijas ar pārdevējiem tirgos, kā arī ar atkritumu nirēju (dumpster divers) protesta grupas dalībniekiem. Pētījumā noskaidrots, ka informācija par pārtikas atkritumiem, to pieejamību un izmantošanas iespējām Rīgā ir ierobežotas. Food waste is produced by the modern and industrialized food system: production, recycling, transportation, distribution, marketing and consumption, as a result has become a pressing environmental, social and food policy problem that is under – developed, poorly managed food systems. The research aims to investigate the causes of the problem of food waste, as well as the reduction and use of facilities. The research focuses on food waste in one part of food production- in trade. The study is being carried out observations of supermarket waste areas, interviews with vendors in the markets and with protest movements dumpster diving participant. The study found out that information about the food waste, the availability and uses of the food waste in Riga is limited.
