Darba mērķis ir analizējot LR likumus un MiFID direktīvas prasības izpētīt kādi ir kontroles mehānismi ieguldījumu pakalpojumu sniegšanai Latvijā un noteikt iespējamus uzlabojumus ieguldījumu tirgus attīstībai.
Darbā autore apskata ieguldījumu pakalpojumu būtību, veidus, ieguldītāju aizsardzības līmeni Latvijā. Analīze iepriekš veiktus pētījums, kas skaidro ieguldītāju uzvedību un lēmumus.
Autore secina, ka LR ir zems mājsaimniecību uzkrājumu līmenis un strauja finanšu pasīvu akumulēšana. Vienlaicīgi Latvijas iedzīvotājiem ir pieejama plaša ieguldījumu pakalpojumu palete, kas ir kvalitatīvi regulēta gan no FKTK puses, gan no IPS puses.
Lai veicinātu ieguldījumu pakalpojumu sniegšanas kvalitāti būtu jādefinē konkrētas prasības ieguldījumu konsultantu kvalifikācijas atzīšanas jomā. No klientu viedokļa tas palielinās uzticības līmeni investīciju pakalpojumu sniedzējiem.
Darba apjoms sastāda 74 lapas. Darbs ir papildināts ar 22 attēliem, 1 tabulu un 2 pielikumiem, kā arī izmantoti statistiskie dati. Izmantotās literatūras un avotu skaits – 33.

The aim of the work is to define the control procedures for the investment advice in Latvia and to provide possible suggestions in order to improve and expedite the development of the investment services. Author effect an analysis of the Latvian Republic Laws, as well as other regulations and the MiFID in order to achieve the aim.
With the purpose of research author surveys the theoretic aspects of investments; the types of investment services; laws and regulations governing investors’ protection in the country. Author also analyzes the researches made earlier, that should help to understand investors’ behavior.
Overall, the result of the survey suggests low level of savings and high volume of liabilities in Latvia. At the same time there are a lot of investment products available on the local market. The investment services in Latvia are qualitatively regulated by FKTK. Management Companies’ internal control systems also are able to provide additional regulatory service.
In order to improve the quality of the investment services it is necessary to define certain requirements for the investment advice providers’ qualification. That will make investment advisers to assume greater responsibility for the advice they provide to the investors. From the investors’ point of view additional qualification will increase the confidence level in advice they receive.
The work consists of 74 pages, 22 pictures, 2 tables and 2 appendixes. It also contains statistical data. The number of works cited is 33.
