| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | In order to complete the practical experiment of Stokes’ law, the student needs to find the settling velocity of a sphere, and this is currently done by using multiple chronometers, which is not a precise way of doing it, as the human reaction time when working with a chronometer is 0,2 seconds.
The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to create a timekeeping system, which could be used to more precisely measure the time intervals in which a sphere moves a certain amount, thereby making it possible to precisely calculate the settling velocity, which is needed to calculate the viscosity.
This Bachelor thesis resulted in a timekeeping system which could measure the time intervals with an error that is six times smaller than by using chronometers and a system with an error that is two hundred times smaller is in development. | en_US |
