Magneto-optical resonances can be used to provide useful spectroscopic information
about the mediums optical properties in the presence of laser light and an external magnetic field. This information is important and allows development of precise magnetometers and theoretical models. High resolution spectroscopy can be achieved with a nanosize cell. The small distance between the cell’s windows means that atoms that are moving perpendicularly to the windows are likely to collide with the windows before they absorb and fluoresence, so Doppler effect is reduced. Measurements were done using signals of cesium atomic vapor layer excited with infrared laser light at the D1 line.
