With the development of technology and the continually increasing number of computer literates among the translators, the pencil and eraser have long ago ceased to be the only aid in the translation process. The bachelor thesis highlights the changes that over the past few decades have taken place with regard to the translation practice. The goal of the research is to describe and consider the pros and cons of different Computer-Assisted Translation tools in use, as well as to compare and contrast the translation programs SDL Trados Studio 2009 and Lokalize. The theoretical research was based on the literature review of relevant sources and the objective was carried out by the analysis of different electronic tools. The findings of the empirical part concerning Computer-Assisted Translation tools and their objective evaluation can be of assistance to translation students and novice translators who plan to purchase and work with different translation programs.
