Tulkošana un dzimtes pētījumi: uztveres un snieguma analīze

Abstract

Maģistra darbs Tulkošana un dzimtes pētījumi: uztveres un snieguma analīze ir pētījums ar mērķi konstatēt iespējamās dzimtes noteiktās īpatnības gan tajā, kā citi uztver tulku, gan paša tulka personībā. Darba pirmo daļu veido literatūras pārskats, izklāstot pamattēmas, pamatprincipus un galvenos izaicinājumus tulkošanā un dzimtes studijās. Darba otrajā, empīriskajā daļā, autore izmanto semantiski kognitīvās analīzes metodi, lai analizētu pašas veikto brīvo asociatīvo eksperimentu datus, un veic personības testu, kurus pildīja praktizējoši tulki, rezultātu salīdzinošo analīzi. Pētījumā ir izmantota semantiski kognitīvā pieeja, kas balstās uz nacionālās konceptosfēras analīzi caur valodas semantiku, kā arī praktiskajā psiholoģijā plaši izplatīti personības testi. Darbā tiek parādīts, kā var izmantot šīs atšķirīgās metodoloģijas, lai apzinātos kopīgos izaicinājumus tulkošanā un dzimtes studijās: tiek pētītas koncepta "tulks" ar dzimti saistītās kognitīvās iezīmes un dzimtes kategorijas iespējamā loma tulka personībā. Pētījumā tiek konstatētas koncepta "tulks" aktīvās kognitīvās iezīmes un dzimtes loma koncepta kognitīvajā struktūrā, tiek noteikti izplatītākie tulku personības tipi un tiek izvirzīta hipotēze par tulka dzimtes nozīmi. The master’s degree paper Interpreting and Gender Studies: Analysing Perception and Performance is a piece of research intended to find possible gender-determined peculiarities in the way others perceive the interpreters and in the personalities of interpreters themselves. The first part of the paper presents an overview of literature , describing the main topics, principles, and challenges both in Interpreting and Gender Studies. The second part presents two empirical studies: the author uses the method of semantic cognitive analysis to explore the data acquired in free association experiments (conducted by the author) and analyses the results of personality tests taken by practicing interpreters. The paper uses the semantic cognitive approach, which analyses the conceptosphere of a nation through language semantics, as well the methods of personality assessment implemented in practical psychology. The paper demonstrates how to apply these different methods to explore the challenges in interpreting which are relevant to gender studies by analysing the gender-related cognitive attributes of the concept "interpreter" and the possible role of the gender category in interpreter's personality. The research points out the active cognitive attributes of the concept "interpreter" and the role of gender in the cognitive structure of the concept, the most common personality types of interpreters are determined and a hypothesis concerning the gender of interpreter is proposed.
