Atslēgvārdi: simbolu skenēšana, fiksācijas ilgums, sakāžu amplitūda, lasīšana The Aim of this study is to determine the characteristic parameters of saccadic eye movements in horizontal scanning task, where the stimuli are identically distributed dots, geometrical figures and letters and text. Six participants took part in the experiment. Eye movements were recorded with IViewX HiSpeed 250Hz eye tracking device. The results show that gaze shifting is individually performed task and is dependent on the previous experience and endogenous and exogenous information processing of the observer. A hypothesis has been proposed that sequential horizontal symbol scanning task is performed automatically and by adding more meaning to the symbols, the characteristic gaze shifting parameters tend to change.
