| dc.description.abstract | Šis darbs apskata veselības metaforu pielietojumu finanšu rakstos par ekonomisko krīzi Grieķijā, kas sākās 2010. gadā. Tā nolūks ir veselības metaforu pielietojuma salīdzināšana amerikāņu un britu finanšu rakstos. Lai sasniegtu mērķi, darba autors veica sekundāro un empīrisko pētījumu. Par pamatu darbam tika izmantotas tādu autoru kā M. Noulsa, R. Mūna, Z. Kovecsesa un D. Lakofa teorētiskās nostādnes. Empīriskā daļa ir veltīta 20 finanšu rakstu analīzei, kuri tika izvēlēti no tiešsaistes ziņu portāliem BBC News un Huffington Post. Pētījums pierāda, ka britu autori biežāk finanšu rakstos lieto veselības metaforas, nekā amerikāņu autori.

| dc.description.abstract | The present paper analyses the use of health metaphors in business articles on the financial crisis in Greece commenced in the year 2010. The paper aims at comparing the use of health metaphors in American and British articles. The research methods used were secondary and empirical research. The theoretical part is based on the frameworks of such authors like M. Knowles, R. Moon, Z. Kövecses and G. Lakoff. The empirical part comprises the discourse analysis of 20 financial articles selected from online news websites BBC News and Huffington Post. The research proves that British authors use health metaphors in financial articles more frequently than American authors.
