Humora atveide tulkojumā

Abstract

Esošā darba pamatā ir mēģinājums izpētīt humoru un tā iezīmes oriģināldarbā un tā tulkojumā. Autors izvēlējās britu humora fantāzijas autora Sera T. Prečeta (Sir T.Prachett) humora darbu un krievu noveļu „Discworld” sērijas tulkotājas Svetlanas Uvbahas (Svetlana Uvbah) tulkojumu. Izvirzītā tēze pēta problēmas, par pamatu ņemot romānu Interesting Times (1994). Balstoties uz vairākām Martas Dinelas (Marta Dynel)(2011) grāmatā izvirzītajām humora teorijām un elementiem un Monas Beikeres (Mona Baker)(2009) tulkošanas stratēģijām, kā arī, balstoties uz I.A.Stolorova (I.A.Stolarova) izveidotajā T .Prečeta humora līmeņa sistēmai, šis darbs mēģina izskaidrot un novērtēt metodes, kas atspoguļojās oficiālajā krievu valodas tulkojumā. Darbs pierāda, ka angļu romāns, oriģināldarbs, un krievu valodas tulkojums atstāj dažādus iespaidus. Oriģināldarbs ir dzīvīgāks un atšķirīgāks, savukārt tulkojums ir pārāk monotons. Iemesls tam, kādēļ rodas šādas atšķirības, ir kultūras atšķirības.

The present paper is an attempt to examine rendering humour of the British humorous fantasy author Sir T. Pratchett in translation by Svetlana Uvbah, the Russian translator of the Discworld novel series. The thesis studies this issue on the example of the novel Interesting Times (1994). Focused on several theories and elements of humorous effects’ production mentioned in the book of Marta Dynel (2011), covering translation strategies by Mona Baker (2009), as well as system of the levels of humour in T. Pratchett’s novels by I.A. Stolarova, this paper attempts to explain and evaluate methods of humour rendering in the Russian translation of Interesting Times, published in 2009. It argues that the English novel and its Russian translation leave different impressions, the original being lively and diverse and the Russian translation being more monotonous. The reason of this difference is the decision of the Russian translator to distance Russian audience from the “too foreign” original due to, hypothetically, cultural differences.
