Abstract
Tā kā Latvija ir Eiropas Savienības dalībvalsts, politiskā diskursa tulkošana, kas pētīta šajā darbā, ir ļoti aktuāla. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt politiskā diskursa pazīmes un to pārstāvēšanu tulkojumos. Teorētiskās un praktiskās pētījuma metodes ir atbilstošās literatūras analīze, diskursa analīze un intervija. Autore secina, ka nav pieejams daudz informācijas par politiskiem diskursiem un to tulkojumiem. Darbs arī pierāda, ka mākslinieciskās izteiksmes līdzekļi, kuri pielietoti pirmvalodā, ir saglabāti mērķvalodā un veic tās pašas stilistiskās funkcijas. Turklāt, ne politiskais diskurss, nedz arī to tulkojumi pārāk neatšķiras no cita veida diskursiem.

Since Latvia is a memberstate of the EU, the issue of translating political discourses researched in the paper is very topical. The goal of the paper is to investigate the characteristic features of the political discourse and their representation in the translations. The theoretical and practical methods of research are analysis and study of relevant literature, discourse analysis, and an interview. It is concluded that there is not much information available about political discourse and its translation. It is also exhibited that the stylistic devices used in the SL are retained in the TL and perform the same stylistic functions. Moreover, neither political discourse nor its translations very much differ from any other kinds of discourse. Key words: political discourse, translation, source text, target text.
