The Bachelor’s work is focuses on the River Venta basin: Venta and its tributaries Ciecere, Ezere, Padure, Veldze and Abava including tributaries of the Abava, the Imula, to analyse the run-off mode, the seasonal and long-term changes, as well as the structural differences in drainage basin mode.
The paper summarizes the literature that characterise the rivers of Latvia, the hydrological regime and the influence of natural variability and anthopogenic factors. In the study there is carried out the river Venta basin phusiographic description. The study summarizes the daily flow data in Venta-Kuldiga hydrological observation station from 1898 to 2008, Abava-Renda, Ezere-Skaras, Padure-Ķimele and Valdze-Stradi working and hydrological observation stations from 1951 to 2008, but Ciecere-Pakuļu hydroelectric power station and Imula-Pilskalni from 1951 to 1994. The study carried out the analysis of the river Venta basin on runoff changes in the distribution and hydrological regime change. The summaryes the conclutions based on theoretical review on results. The work sonsists of 47 pages and includes 14 attachments, 8 tables, 13 charts.
Keywords: the Venta basin, runoff, hydrological regime, seasonal changes, long-term changes.
