Vizuālo materiālu izmantošana vārdu krājuma mācīšanā sākumskolā

Abstract

Diplomdarbā „Vizuālo materiālu izmantošana vārdu krājuma mācīšanā sākumskolā” pētīta vizuālo materiālu loma vārdu krājuma mācīšanas-mācīšanās procesā sākumskolas skolniekiem. Darba mērķis ir atklāt sekmīgas vārdu krājuma mācīšanas stratēģijas ar vizuālajiem materiāliem, kas paredzētas tieši sākumskolas skolniekiem. Darba teorētiskajā daļā sniegts pārskats par sākumskolas skolēnu psiholoģiskajām un ar vecumu saistītajām īpatnībām, vizuālo materiālu lomu svešvalodu mācīšanā, radošuma un iztēles nozīmi, kā arī vārdu krājuma mācīšanas stratēģijām. Darba empīriskajā daļā sniegta skolēnu un skolotāju uzskatu analīze saistībā ar vizuālajiem materiāliem vārdu krājuma mācīšanā; tajā iekļauta arī pētītā skolēna kontroldarbu analīze, kas saistīta ar skolēna zināšanu progresa novērošanu. Lai sasniegtu izvirzīto mērķi, autore izmantoja case study, literatūras pārskatu, aptaujas un testus. Veiktā pētījuma rezultāti ļauj secināt, ka vizuālo materiālu pielietojums vārdu krājuma mācīšanā sākumskolas skolniekiem sekmē labāku vārdu krājuma apguvi.

The present diploma paper “Visual aids in Teaching Vocabulary to Young Learners” focuses on the role of visual aids in the vocabulary teaching-learning process involving young learners. The goal of the paper is to find out effective strategies in vocabulary teaching to young learners which involve the use of visual aids. The theoretical part presents an overview of theory regarding young learners’ psychological and age peculiarities, the role of visual aids in foreign language teaching, the importance of creativity and imagination, as well as vocabulary teaching strategies. The empirical part of the paper presents the analysis of learners’ and teachers’ opinions about the use of visual aids in teaching vocabulary; the analysis of tests taken by the student who was the subject of the research is also presented. The analysis of the test results involves the observation of the progress of the student. In order to reach the goal, the author used the case study, literature review, surveys and tests. The findings of the research allow to conclude that the application of visual aids in vocabulary teaching to young learners facilitates better vocabulary acquisition.
