In thesis the opinion leaders of green lifestyle are being studied, trying to examine the theory of opinion leaderism in the settings of Latvia. Theoretical basis of research is the model of Two-step flow of communication, developed by Elihu Katz and Paul F. Lazarsfeld and the theory of diffusion of innovations worked out by Everett M. Rogers, in which the model of Two-step flow of communication was further developed. In research complementary quantitative and qualitative methods were used. It was concluded that characteristics of the opinion leaders of green lifestyle confirm the statements of hypothesis about the levels of competence, socioeconomical status and the amount of social contacts of the leaders. Thesis consists of theoretical part which examines the consumer society and its lifestyle, green lifestyle and opinion leaderism, and analytical part, in which research methods, research results and conclusions are described.
