Audējskudras Oecophylla smaragdina (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) cukura un aminoskābju šķīdumu preferences un to potenciāls augu bioloģiskajā aizsardzībā

Abstract

Pētījums veikts, izmantojot skudru sugu Oecophylla smaragdina (Hymenoptera: Formicidae), lai pētītu skudru preferences pret dažādiem aminoskābju un cukura šķīdumiem. Pētījuma laikā veikti divi eksperimenti, pirmajā, izmantojot 13 skudru kolonijas un eksperimentu atkārtojot trīs dienas, un otrajā, izmantojot sešas skudru kolonijas, atkārtojot divas dienas. Katrā eksperimentā skudru kolonijām tika piedāvāti pieci dažādi šķīdumi. Šajā pētījumā pārbaudītas aminoskābes ar četrām dažādām ietekmēm uz kukaiņu garšas receptoriem. Konstatēts, ka ogļhidrātu garšas sajūtu stimulējošās aminoskābes ir ar visbūtiskāko ietekmi uz skudru preferencēm pret cukura un aminoskābju šķīdumiem. Iegūtos rezultātus potenciāli var izmantot, attīstot bioloģiskās augu aizsardzības metodes, kurās kā kontroles aģentu izmanto skudras. Iegūtie rezultāti liecina, ka ogļhidrātu garšas sajūtu izraisošajām aminoskābēm ir svarīga loma, nosakot skudru preferences pret dažādiem šķīdumiem.

The study was conducted using a species of ant Oecophylla smaragdina (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) to investigate the ant preferences for different amino acids and sugar solutions. During the study, two experiments were carried out, the first was with using 13 ant colonies, and the experiment was repeated for three consecutive days. In the second experiment six ant colonies were used, and it was repeated two consecutive days. In each experiment, ant colonies were offered five different solutions. In the first experiment, amino acid solutions were selected according to three types of amino acid effects on the insect taste receptors. In the second experiment amino acids for the solutions were selected based on the ground of literature available information on the occurrence of amino acids in nature and ant preferences to them. This study tested amino acids with four different effects on the insect taste receptors.
