Brīnumainas radības "Kalnu un jūru kanonā"

Abstract

Darbs „Brīnumainas radības „Kalnu un jūru kanonā””, izņemot dažus nelielus „Šaņ hai dzjin” („Kalnu un jūru kanona”) fragmentus, kas 1994. gadā Rīgā tika publicēti „Mitoloģijas enciklopēdijā” J. Staburovas rakstā „Ķīnas mitoloģija”, ir pirmais mēģinājums pārtulkot latviešu valodā fragmentus no tā. Tulkojums papildināts ar īsiem komentāriem. Atbilstoši izvirzītajai tēmai, no astoņpadsmit kanona tīstokļiem (nodaļām) tulkojumam tika izvēlēti fragmenti, kas satur brīnumainu mitoloģisku garu, dzīvnieku, putnu un zivju, kas apdzīvo Padebešu valstību, aprakstus, kā arī iepazīstina ar neparastām svešām valstīm un to iemītniekiem, kurus radījusi bagātā seno ķīniešu iztēle. Faktu izklāsts ir papildināts ar ilustrācijām un transkribēto vārdu un ģeogrāfisko nosaukumu indeksu. Cerams, ka šis nelielais pētījums par senās Ķīnas mitoloģiju būs noderīgs ikvienam, kurš interesējas par šo Ķīnas kultūras aspektu.

The work „The wondrous creatures of „Shan hai jing””, except for some short translations of passages from this canon, which were published in „Encyclopedia of mythology” in J. Staburova’s article „Chinese mythology” (Riga, 1994), is the first attempt to translate fragments of it into latvian language. Short commentaries of the translation are given. Fragments describing the miraculous mythological spirits, animals, birds and fishes that dwell in every corner Under Heaven, as well as the ones that introduce unusual countries and their inhabitants, produced by the luxuriant imagination of ancient Chinese, were chosen for translation from eighteen scrolls (chapters) of the canon in accordance with the announced theme. The work is supplemented with the illustrations and an index of transcribed names and geographical names that are given in the translation. Hopefully this unassuming investigation in the field of ancient Chinese mythology will be useful for everyone interested in this aspect of Chinese culture.
