Pētījumā izvirzītā hipotēze- ja vizuālajā reklāmā ir vizuālais naratīvs, tad to atceras labāk.
The aim of my bachelor thesis, entitled “Semiotic and audience analysis of the competition "Adwards" (2013-2015)”, is to find out, first, what is the semiotic basis of the message content in “Adwards” advertisements and, second, whether audience remembers those advertisements that contain narrative better than those that do not.
Research hypothesis: a visual advertisement containing a visual narrative is remembered better. To confirm the hypothesis, further research questions have been introduced: 1) What is the semiotic basis of “Adwards” advertising messages? 2) What is the reason of the “Adwards” message efficiency? 3) Why is one “Adwards” commercial considered better than another? 4) What does attract the most attention in visual advertisements? 5) What kind of semiotic aspects are used in visual commercials?
Bachelor thesis consists of a theoretical, methodological, empirical and conclusion parts. Theory is based on advertising, semiotics and visual narrative theory. Empirical part consists of semiotic content analysis and survey analysis. In the final part conclusions and the general analysis of the data are presented and comparatively discussed.
