Vācu valodas tēls angliskajās tīmekļa vietnēs laikposmā no 2010. līdz 2015. gadam

Abstract

Šajā maģistra darbā tiek apskatīts vācu valodas tēls internetā. Pētījuma mērķis ir noteikt, kādi priekšstati par vācu valodu mūsdienās tiek izplatīti tīmekļa vietnēs angļu valodā, kā arī to, cik lielā mērā šie uzskati tiek uztverti par patiesiem. Darba ietvaros tika atlasītas reprezentatīvas tīmekļa lapas, kas veidoja pamatu turpmākai analīzei un novērojumiem. Secināts, ka izplatīto vācu valodas tēlu galvenokārt veido šādi trīs uzskati: vācu valodai ir nepatīkama, skarba skaņa; vācu valodai ir raksturīgi īpaši gari salikteņi (kas var tikt vērtēts gan pozitīvi, gan negatīvi); vācu valodā ir daudz neierastu vārdu un teicienu, kuriem nav atbilsmju citās valodās. Internetā veiktajā aptaujā šo priekšstatu esamība tika apstiprināta, taču tika atklāti arī pretēji uzskati.

This thesis examines the image of the German language on the Internet. The aim of the study is to determine which ideas about the German language nowadays are conveyed on websites in English, as well as the extent to which these ideas are perceived to be true. To achieve this, representative web pages were selected that formed the basis for further analysis and observations. It was concluded that the mediated image of the German language is mainly composed of the following three notions: the German language sounds harsh and unpleasant; German has notably long compound words (which can be interpreted both positively and negatively); German has many unique words and expressions that have no equivalents in other languages. By conducting an online survey the existence of these images was confirmed, but also conflicting opinions were revealed.
