This thesis explores young customers of quick loans, who have encountered problems using this service. Not only their reasoning and motivations behind quick loan taking is revealed, but also what are their borrowing practices, understanding of debt and effects of indebtedness.
Aim of this paper is to research customer attitudes toward quick loans, the reasons and consequences of taking quick loan. It is argued that indebtedness of young people causes not only financial difficulties but also emotional distress among these consumers.
There are several dimensions of debt at the basis of analysis showing different ways how debt can be conceptualized and to what other spheres of daily lives it has effect. This thesis is also development of framework for future research of quick loans, thus adding anthropological perspective to public discussion.
