Pētījuma ietvaros tika noskaidrots, ka telekomunikāciju uzņēmumu sociālu mediju komunikācijas saturs atbilst to mērķiem, taču darba devēja zīmola veidošanas procesā sociālie mediji ieņem informēšanas funkciju. Sociālo mediju sniegtās iespējas netiek pietiekami izmantotas darba devēja zīmola veidošanā. The main goal of the Master thesis “The Role of Social Media Communications in Employer Brand Building: the Example of Telecommunications Companies” is to analyse social media communications in networking sites „Facebook” and „Draugiem” of telecommunications companies „LMT”, „Lattelecom” and „Bite” and evaluate its significance in achievement of the company aims and its correspondence to the insights expressed in the theoretical part of the paper, and to find out the role of social media communications in employer brand building.
Theoretical part describes the theoretical concept of the brand, brand positioning, employer brand, its identity and positioning, and the contemporary trends of media development. The empirical part of the Master thesis contains case study. The research includes interview, qualitative content analysis and survey.
The most important result obtained after the research was that the content of social media communications is consistent with the objectives of the companies, but the role of social media in employer brand building is informative. Social media are insufficiently used to build employer brand.
