Lai pārbaudītu iekārtu, darba gaitā tika iegūti rubīdija spektri un ar augstu precizitāti noteiktas tā supersīksturktūras komponenšu frekvences ar 10 ciparu precizitāti, kā arī atomus raksturojošo konstanšu A un B vērtības: Arb85=25.0128, Brb85=25.63, Arb87=84.6539 un Brb87=12.4259 High precision time measurement plays an integral part in the modern world- it is very important in a multitude of scientific experiments as well as directly responsible for the precision of GPS systems. In order to achieve the maximum precision the atomic transitions which are at the core of today’s atomic clocks must be measured with high precision. One of the most important elements for these high precision measurements is rubidium. In this thesis a device has been constructed that allows to measure the hyper fine structure of rubidium with a sub-Doppler precision, and, with the use of a femtosecond frequency comb, the frequencies of the hyperfine peaks have been determined with precision in the kilohertz range. To test the device the rubidium’s spectra’s absolute frequencies have been identified with the precision of 10 digits, and so have the values of constants A and B: Arb85=25.0128, Brb85=25.63, Arb87=84.6539 and Brb87=12.4259.
