Bachelor thesis “Migraine: The Narrative of a Chronical Illness” is a qualitative research on the telling practices of an individual headache narrative.
Research objective is to discover how an individual describes their illness (headache) experience through story, what and why affects it. As the theoretical basis of the research Good’s created illness narrative features- the „emplotting” of illness, the „subjunctivizing” qualities of the story, the „positioning and suffering” in the local discourse setting -have been used. Through it, the effect of gender on headache story construction has been analysed.
Based on research results it can be concluded, that gender does affect illness narrative and its storytelling to a large extent.
