Elektrotehnikas nozares terminoloģijas tulkošanas aspekti CENELEC standartos

Abstract

Šī maģistra darba mērķis ir analizēt elektrotehnikas nozares terminoloģiju CENELEC standartos, kas atspoguļotu terminoloģijas jomas nepilnības Latvijā no tulkotāja skatpunkta. Darbā aplūkota terminoloģijas nozares attīstība, pievēršoties nedaudz arī vispārējai terminoloģijas teorijai un tās tālākajai attīstībai, apskatīta arī terminoloģijas nozares situācija Latvijā . Darba praktiskajā daļā ir analizēti no CENELEC standartiem apkopotie termini biežāk lietotajās terminu datu bāzēs. Tika secināts, ka elektrotehnikas terminu bāze Latvijā ir nepilnīga, jo pieejamās datu bāzes nav saistītas, kādēļ ir terminoloģijā vērojama sinonīmija, kas sarežģī tulkotāju darbu, kā arī veicina nekvalitatīvu tulkojumu rašanos.

The purpose of this master’s thesis is to analyse terminology of electrotechnical field in CENELEC standards, that would reflect issues of terminology field in Latvia from translator’s view. This thesis examines the history of terminology as scientific field, by briefly looking at the General Terminology Theory and how it has been developing through criticism of other researchers. Also the current situation in terminology field of Latvia has been evaluated. In the practical part of this thesis, author has created glossary from terms gathered in CENELEC standards and analysed them through three most often used term bases. It has led to conclusion, that terminology of electrotechnical field is incomplete, possible reason for that could be that they are not related in any way, which leads to synonymy. This affects translator’s work in a negative manner and also contributes to low quality translations.
