Masters’ thesis “Properties of planar graph duality” carries out an in-depth review of several topics on the existence of certain types of cycles in graphs. As the current literature does not contain sufficient amount of discussion on interrelations between Hamiltonian cycles, Eulerian cycles and dual graph, this paper provides formulation of theorems and conclusions related to this topic. The relationships collected and defined in the thesis are used to create and analyze algorithms for evaluating the existence of a Hamiltonian cycle. The most significant relationships formulated in the thesis are Grinbergs’ Theorem for the dual graph, theorems about the existence of Hamilton cycle and Euler cycle simultaneously in the primal graph and in the dual graph, as well as the corollary about the existence of Hamilton cycle based on the minimal cut of the dual graph. Another important contribution is the analysis of the Karger’s algorithm about its application in finding the minimal cut.
