It is very important for Latvia to understand and explain what are the countries constitutional values to not lose, forget and disown the values, which helped create the democratic Latvian Republic, the midst of growing multiculturalism. One of the values that is highly forgotten to explain is the Latvian flag. Not being sure about the identity of own nation and country doesn’t help with targeted movement forward and make decisions that would have a positive impact on the future. The target of this research is to draw attention to the history of the red and white flag, the importance of the flag as country’s symbol, the regulation created for the flag and cases that involve the flag.
