Diplomdarbs sastāv no divām nodaļām, 50 lappusēm, 1 tabulas, 21 attēla, 6 pielikumiem un dokumentārās lapas. Darba izstrādē izpētīti 29 literatūras avoti. Atslēgas vārdi: lasītprasme, rakstītprasme, latviešu valoda, valodas apguve, mācību saturs, sākumskola.
The title of the diploma thesis is “Improving Pupils' Writing and Reading Skills in Grade 1”. In Latvia, the results of learning to write and read are based on the existing normative acts of the state; however, as children start learning at school, the predefined results are not always achieved, and the level of writing and reading skills is often insufficient. The topicality of the study is based on the fact that many pupils of the primary school drop behind their peers in terms of writing and reading skill acquisition, therefore the learning process should be improved in such a way that they give the feeling of accomplishment to the pupil, as well as help him/her acquire the skills. The aim of the study was to analyze the way children acquire reading and writing skills, as well as to make proposals to the improvement thereof. The first chapter researches theoretical resources on the history, concept, aims and acquisition contents of reading and writing skills. The second chapter views the improvement process of reading and writing skills of pupils in grade 1, including a description of the empirical study and its results. The diploma thesis consists of two chapters, 50 pages, 1 table, 21 pictures, 6 attachments and a documentary page. 29 literature resources have been studied. Key words: reading skills, writing skills, Latvian language, language acquisition, study content, primary school.
