Tulkojumzinātnes teorija un frazeoloģismu tulkošama. Gintera Grasa “labot sīpolu” piemērs

Abstract

Šī darba tēma ir tulkojumzinātnes teorija un frazeoloģismu tulkošana, kā piemēru izmantojot Gintera Grasa grāmatu „Lobot sīpolu“. Darba gaitā lasītājs tiek iepazīstināts ar dažādiem tulkošanas teorijas aspektiem, tās modeļiem un tipiem, kā arī skoposa un ekvivalences jēdzieniem. Tālāk norādītas problēmas, ar kurām var saskarties tulkojot, un metodes to atpazīšanai. Otrajā teorijas apkopojuma daļā ir informācija par frazeoloģismu īpašībām, to klasifikāciju un tulkošanas problēmām. Visbeidzot praktiskajā daļā, kur izmantota Gintera Grasa „Lobot sīpolu“ pirmā nodaļa latviešu un vācu valodā, iepazīstināts ar autoru un pētāmo grāmatu – „Lobot Sīpolu“. Pēc tam īsumā aprakstīti izvēlētie frazeoloģismi, to polileksikalitāte, kā arī, kā izmainās tulkojums un tā nozīme, kad konkrētos frazeoloģismus pārtulko uz latviešu valodu. Darba mērķis ir izzināt tulkošanas un frazeoloģismu tulkošanas teoriju, ar kādām grūtībām var saskarties un kādu risinājumus iespējams atrast tulkojumzinātnes teorijā un praktiskajā daļā, strādājot ar Gintera Grasa grāmatu „Lobot Sīpolu“, Darbā izmantota analītiskā un salīdzinošā metode; apkopotas un analizētas teorētiskajā literatūrā atrodamās atziņas un salīdzināta grāmatas pirmā nodaļa oriģinālā un latviešu tulkojumā. Secināts, ka tulkošana ir sarežģīts process, kurā jāievēro dažādi aspekti un likumsakarības, kā arī nepieciešamas izcilas avotvalodas un mērķvalodas zināšanas, kā arī iespējamie kultūras aspekti. Ar darbu vēl ir iespējams strādāt turpmāk, analizēt citas valodas kategorijas, ne tikai frazeoloģismus, bet, piemēram, metaforas un analizēt konkrēto materiālu vēl trešajā valodā.

The subject of this paper are translatological aspects, translation of Idioms, where example is taken from Günter Grass’s „Peeling the Onion “. In this paper, the reader will be introduced to theoretical aspects of translatology, its models and types, as well as theory of Skopos an equivalence. This introduction will be followed by information on problems that can be faced when translating and how to identify them. In the second part of theory there will be information about Idioms, their characteristics, classification and translation problems. In the practical part, where Günter Grass’s „Peeling the Onion “first chapter in German and English is being used, will be a small introduction to the author and a brief summary of the book. Then shortly described the chosen Idioms their polilexikality, as well as, how different is the translation in Latvian from the original German language. The goal of the paper is to explore theoretical aspects of translatology and Idioms, to identify the classification and main difficulties when translating and what solutions are to be found. As well a stake a practical example of first chapter from a book in two languages and see, how it actually looks in a real life example. The main method used was analytic and comparing method; main theoretical conclusions found in theoretical works were summarized and analyzed and compared the first chapter from „Peeling the Onion “in Latvian and German language. It can be concluded that translating is a difficult process, which contains various aspects and rules that need to be taken in consideration and the translator needs to have an outstanding knowledge of both source and target language, as well as know some cultural aspects. Because of the limitations of this paper, there are other aspects that can be analyzed, for example, translation in a third language and other aspects of language, for example, metaphors.
