Maģistra darba ietvaros tiek analizēta zinātniskā literatūra par Visaptverošo ekonomikas un tirdzniecības nolīgumu, kas ir jauns nolīgums, par kuru vienojās ES un Kanāda. Maģistra darba mērķu sasniegšanai tika pētītas dažādas tirdzniecības teorijas, kā arī īpašā uzmanība tika pievērsta PTO lomai tirdzniecības liberalizācijā un RTV un BTZ problēmām mūsdienas protekcionisma ietekmē. Padziļināti tika izpētītas ģeogrāfiskas izcelsmes norādes, to jo īpaši to aizsardzība ES likumdošanā un VETN. Pētījumā rezultāta tika noskaidrotas priekšrocības un iespējamas problēmas, ko dod Visaptverošs ekonomikas un tirdzniecības nolīgums attiecībā uz ģeogrāfiskas izcelsmes norāžu aizsardzību. The main objective of the Master's thesis was to analyse the conditions of The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, as well as areas, that will be affected by it, more closely researching the provisions on geographical indications. In order to achieve the Master's thesis objectives a variety of different fields was analysed and investigated, however, more deeply researched aspects included various trade theories, WTO role in the liberalization of trade and increasing RTA / FTA protectionism issues. The main study was done on the problem of geographical indications, as they were analysed in the context of an intellectual property form, that is protected by EU legislation and VETN. The study clarified the benefits and potential problems offered by the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement with regards to geographical indications.
