Draudzība un mīlestība R. Flenagana romānā „Šaurais ceļš uz dziļajiem ziemeļiem”

Abstract

Šis bakalaura darbs pēta problemātiskos jautājumus saistībā ar mīlestības un draudzības lomu personāžu dzīvēs Ričarda Flenagana romānā “Šaurais ceļš uz dziļajiem ziemeļiem”. Šī darba mērķis ir mēģināt izgaismot mīlestības un draudzības nozīmīgumu personāžu dzīvēs kā pretspēku kara šausmām. Šī pētnieciskā darba teorētiskā daļa tika veikta galvenokārt balstoties uz filozofu, literatūras kritiķu un vēsturnieku publicētajiem darbiem saistībā ar šo tēmu. Praktiskā daļa tika veikta galvenokārt vadoties no romāna teksta. Šis bakalaura darbs pierāda, ka ciešanas šajā pasaulē var tikt attaisnotas mīlestības un draudzības gaismā, ko piedzīvo šī stāsta personāži.

This bachelor thesis examines the issues concerning the role of love and friendship in characters’ lives in Richard Flanagan’s novel The Narrow Road to the Deep North. The purpose of this work is to try to reveal the significance of love and friendship in the characters’ lives as a counterforce to the horrors of the war. The theoretical part of the research was carried out generally on the basis of relevant published works of philosophers, literary critics and historians. The practical part was based on the textual evidence collected from the narrative of the novel. This bachelor paper proves that the suffering in this world can be justified in the light of love and friendship experienced by characters in the narrative.
