Pētījumā piedalījās 119 nodarbinātie, vecumā no 18 līdz 65 gadiem. The aim of the research was to find out whether there is a statistically significant relationship between work stress, prostration and stress coping strategies, and whether there are significant differences in these indicators in different generations. In the research paticepated 119 employees aged 18-65. The average age is 31.87. Of all respondents, 89 were women and 30 men. In the research were used 3 questionaaries: JSS- Job Stressor scales, Paul E. Spector & Jex, 1997.; Procrastination Scale, Lay 1986, The Coping Orientation of Problem Experience/COPE/ Inventory, adapted by Signes Knipse, 2010. And demographical indecators: age, gender, is or is not studying while employed. The results showes that there is no statistically significant relationship between stress and procrastination. There is a statistically significant relationship between the work stressor scale "organizational constraints" and the "problem-solving based stress coping strategy". There is a statistically significant and negative relationship between the "problem-oriented stress coping strategy" and "procrastination", which means that people with higher levels of procrastination use this strategy more less. There is a statistically significant and positive relationship between the "avoiding strategy" and "procrastination," which confirms that procrastination is an avoidance coping strategy. There is a statistically significant difference between generations in the "physical symptoms" of the degree of prostration and work stressors. Older generations show higher physical symptoms complaints. Differences in the procrastination scale indicate that there are differences in the level of procrastination between the older and the younger generation. The results show that “problem-solving stress coping strategy" and "avoidance strategy" as a strategy for stress management predict 48% of the procrastination. Keywords: work stress, procrastination, stress coping strategies, generations.
