Abstract
Pētījumā piedalījās 22 dalībnieki, no kuriem 11 dalībnieki (vid.vecums 8 ± 1 g.) veica oklūziju terapiju, 11 dalībnieki (vid.vecums 10 ± 3 g.) spēlēja specializēto datorspēli Tetris® ambliopijas ārstēšanai, izmantojot sarkani-zilos filtrus.
Master thesis written in Latvian language in 39 pages. It contains 13 figures, 6 tables, 4 appendixes, and 93 references. The aim of the master's thesis was to assess the efficiency of specialized computer games in the treatment of amblyopia in school-age children. There were 22 participants: 11 participants (average age 8 ± 1 y.) had occlusion therapy, 11 participants (average age 10 ± 3 y.) played a specialized computer game Tetris® using red-blue filters for the treatment of amblyopia. All participants, who played a specialized computer game, and those, who had occlusion therapy, showed statistically significant and simmilar improvement in visual acuity in the amblyopic eye after 4 months of therapy (p < 0,05). The use of specialized computer games for treatment of amblyopia is an alternative type of amblyopia treatment compared to occlusion therapy if binocular vision is possible.
