In this bachelor’s thesis a spectroscopic study of high-frequency electrodeless light sources was made by looking at the spectral lines of particular chemical elements - bismuth, argon and iodine – and their intensity variations depending on the excitation generator voltage. During this work, the gas temperature was determined by using the OH molecule rotation spectrum, also the self-modulating regime of lamps was studied. The work concludes that the addition of antimony to lamps filling substantially affects both the mode of operation of the lamp and the intensity of the spectral lines.
