The bachelor paper is devoted to the description and detection of common tendencies in two defining dictionaries, as well as to the analysis and comparison of the lexical meaning of words венгерка, винт, выдержка, венец, воля in “classic” and contemporary defining dictionaries. The descriptive, semantic (component) and comparative methods were chosen as the main research methods, which allowed to identify certain changes of specific group of lexical elements. The first chapter examines the concept of lexicography as a science, its current state and the issues that the science faces today. The second chapter compares the general characteristics of the selected dictionaries, as well as offers the descriptive, comparative, semantic (with element of component) analysis of the dynamics of lexical meanings of a selected group of words based on defining dictionaries of different time periods. The bachelor paper will be of interest to specialists in the compiling of dictionaries, philologists who study the lexical meaning of a word and its dynamics of change in the time paradigm, as well as all those interested in the tendency to change the semantic structure of a word in a time perspective and the reflection of this process in defining dictionaries of different historical eras.
