Ceļošana un identitāte: mugursomnieku gadījums

Abstract

Darbā tiek pētīts kā sievietes mugursomnieces apraksta un piedzīvo kustību un kā viņas veido savus uzskatus par ceļošanu. Pētījums norāda uz galvenajiem faktoriem, kas ietekmē sieviešu izvēli un pieredzi esot kustībā kā arī riskus un tā pārvaldīšanu. Interpretējot informantu liecības, tiek secināts, ka kustība informantiem ir ļoti nozīmīga un tā viņiem līdzinās reliģiskai pieredzei esot nošķirtām no citiem un šķēršļu pārvarēšanai. Tika atklāts, ka sievietes mugursomnieces savā maršruta izvēlē pievērš uzmanību ne tikai savām vēlmēm kaut ko redzēt bet arī citu ceļotāju pieredzēm, pašreizējai situācijai valstij un sievietes vietai sabiedrībā. Noskaidrojās arī tas, ka risku viņas pārvalda dažāda veida riskus, piemēram, izvēlētos naktsmītnes, ceļojuma kompanjonu un mainot savu uzvedību.

The study explores how female backpackers describe and experience movement and how they create and perceive travel. It illustrates the main factors that impact women’s decisions and choices regarding travel and their experiences of risk and management of it. The interpreted accounts demonstrate that movement is important and could be aligned to religious experiences which include abundance, overcoming of obstacles and changes of a person. It was discovered that the routes that women choose to follow have different criteria beside those who meet their wishes, it is important what was advised to them by other backpackers, the situation in the country and the position of women in the society. They have different methods of managing risk such as careful consideration of their accommodation, choices of travel companions and change in behaviour.
