Pornogrāfija un digitālie mediji – sociālie un ētiskie aspekti

Abstract

Šī darba nosaukums ir “Pornogrāfija un mediji – sociālie un ētiskie aspekti”. Tajā tiek aplūkots, kā digitālie mediji ir mainījuši veidu, kā tiek radīts un patērēts pornogrāfiskais materiāls, un kā tas ir ietekmējis ar pornogrāfiju saistītos sociālos un ētiskos jautājumus. Par galveno teorētisko pamatu ar pornogrāfiju saistīto sociālo problēmu apskatei ir izmantota Ēriha Fromma filozofija. Darbs sastāv no trīs daļām. Pirmā nodaļa ir pārskats par problēmām saistītām ar pornogrāfijas definēšanu. Tajā ir iekļautas galvenās definīcijas, izskaidrojot iemeslus, kāpēc ir grūti nonākt pie vienas noteiktas definīcijas. Tā kā īpaši grūti ir noteikt robežu starp pornogrāfisko un erotisko, daļa no nodaļas ir veltīta šo žanru nošķīrumam. Pirmajā nodaļā ir iekļauts arī pārskats par to, kā digitālie mediji ir ietekmējuši pornogrāfijas radīšanu un patērēšanu. Darba otrā nodaļa ir veltīta pornogrāfijas sociālajiem aspektiem, un tam, kā tās patērēšana un izplatīšana ietekmē to, kā sabiedrībā tiek uztverta seksualitāte, vai pastāv pornogrāfijas atkarība, kāpēc tā tiek skatīta vispār, un kā pornogrāfija iekļaujas idejās par brīvo runu un individuālās izvēles tiesībām. Trešajā nodaļa tiek apskatīti pornogrāfijas ētiskie aspekti. Uzmanība tiek pievērsta viedoklim, ka pornogrāfija rada un uztur dzimumu nevienlīdzību, nodara kaitējumu sievietēm, ar mērķi analizēt jautājumu, vai ētiska pornogrāfija ir iespējama.

The title of this work is “Pornography and media – social and ethical aspects”. It explores the way the digital media has changed the way pornographical material is created and consumed, and the implications of digital media on social and ethical issues related to pornography. Erich Fromm’s philosophical insights are employed as the main theoretical framework for debating social issues in regard to pornography. This work is composed of three parts. The first chapter is an overview of the problems related to defining pronography. It discusses the main definitions and highlights the reasons why coming to a single, clear definition has proven to be difficult. As the drawing a line between erotica and pornography has been particularly elusive, part of this chapter is dedicated to the distiction between these genres. The way digital media has changed the consumption and circulation of pornography is also included in this first chapter. The second chapter of this work is dedicated to the social aspects of pornography, including the way its consumption affects the development of the perception of sexuality in society and the question, whether or not pornography may cause an addition. This chapter also discusses the of the consumption of pornographic materials, and how pornography fits in the ideas of the freedom of speech and individual choice. Third chapter of this paper focuses on the ethical aspects of pornography. Namely, it looks into the opinion that pornography creates and maintains the gender discrimination and harms the women involved, and, in the context of this discussion, asks the question, whether such thing as an ethical pornography is possible?
