Dzīvnieku mākslas darbi ir atpazīstami jau no seniem laikiem. To tēmas variē no medījuma līdz mājdzīvniekam. Animal artwork has been recognizable since ancient times. Their themes range from hunting to pets. The main subject of the diploma thesis is the interpretation of the image of animals in black and white illustrations. The main task of the theoretical part is to study the history and symbolism of the animal image, as well as black and white illustration techniques. The main task of the empirical part is to analyze the animal image illustrations created by different artists. It was concluded that animal symbolism may vary from culture to culture, but there are some unifying elements. Animals are most often depicted in illustrations alone or with other animals, rarely with humans. The design of the book was created in the creative part. The book summarizes the author's poems over several years and created illustrations.
